Growing Mindful After-School Program
My daughter came home after the first class and declared that she "LOVED mindfulness class!" which is a high praise. About half way through the session, she even put that day's breathing technique into practice when she was upset. The weekly summary emails about class that day helped me guide her through the technique (I even did it with her!). I am so grateful to Ashley and Jaclyn for providing this wonderful foundational experience to these young minds.

“Season changing. That is the positive impact that your interactions with our players and coaches has had.
I know that it is difficult to assess the tone of an email, but please believe me with all sincerity that you are truly changing lives with your contacts. After you talked to our team on Friday, we had the best practice of the season. After practice I was so jazzed by the overall effect on our team that I sent a message to all of the players and parents about the great work that you all are doing.
Today we had, from start to finish, our cleanest game in the field and our best day of hitting. But way more important there were clear signs that the kids and coaches took to heart your message.
After the game the coaches shared that we used some of the techniques during the game and then we asked the kids if they used any. Almost every kid rose their hand and shared specific times during the game that they used the tools shared by you.
Thank you so much for reaching out to us and the rest of the league. I strongly feel that the clearly visible connections between your training and our actions will become more common and help the overall experience of all that play, coach, and watch SCLL baseball.”

Growing Mindful Private Workshop
“I can't recommend Ashley and Jaclyn from Growing Mindful enough - their extensive expertise in children's mindfulness, combined with their supportive teaching styles, resulted in the most positive, meaningful and FUN experience for my 5th grade daughters and their classmates. I was so impressed by the thoughtful and personalized workshop they created and executed specifically for 5th grade girls. The workshop consisted of an introduction to mindfulness, self-compassion, journaling, art, meditation and more. "Ashley’s mindful seminar for moms was honestly the highlight of my week! After each time that we met as a group, I felt more connected, less alone, and more equipped with tools to deal with the emotional roller coaster that is motherhood. I learned techniques to help me pause and think before I react, learned how to be more compassionate with myself, and learned that even just 10 minutes of meditation can have lasting positive effects throughout the day and help me better deal with the hard moments. It is evident that Ashley is extremely passionate about mindfulness, and she is very genuine and honest about her own journey and struggles. Through a mix of education, interactive exercises, and leading meditations with her calming voice, Ashley created a safe space that encouraged all of us to share and be open—with ourselves and with each other. "My daughter was hesitant to attend this class - claiming "breathing doesn't do anything." But after her first lesson she LOVED it and learned so many different strategies and ways of thinking about things. This class was way beyond expectations.

Growing Mindful After-School Program
Ashley and Jaclyn's Growing Mindful course is amazing, well organized and engaging. Our 7 year old daughter participated in the course and loved it! This class teachers mindfulness and awareness in a safe space. Kids are provided with many tools (ex: breathing techniques and coping strategies) that help them navigate their feelings and emotions in a more positive way. Within weeks we were able to see the lasting positive impact of mindfulness and highly recommend this course.

Growing Mindful After-School Program
"My daughter has participated in two six-week sessions of Growing Mindful and I couldn't be more thrilled with her experience and the tools she has learned to manage big emotions. For example, my daughter is more skilled at naming her emotions, differentiating between big problems and little problems, and has identified that belly breathing really helps to calm her down when she is frustrated or upset. I have also noticed that she isn't as hard on herself when she is learning something new. Teachers Ashley and Jaclyn are skilled in working with children and each class is different and fun. I have recommended this class to anyone I know with elementary aged children and only wish that this class was available for my 6th grader because the skills taught at Growing MIndful are critical for all ages (even adults!). Thank you Jaclyn and Ashley! We are looking forward to your next session at Brittan Acres."
